چکیده

the Western world and consequently the study of normal and pathological heart behavior is an active research area. In particular, the study of the shape and motion of the heart is important because many heart diseases are strongly correlated to these two factors. The human heart is composed of two separate pumps: a right heart that pumps the blood through the lungs and a left heart that pumps the blood through the peripheral organs. In turn, each of these “hearts” is a two-chamber pump composed of an atrium and a ventricle. Special mechanisms in the heart provide cardiac rhythm and transmit action potentials throughout the heart muscle to cause the heart’s rhythmic relaxation (diastole) and contraction (systole). By Kyoungju Park, Albert Montillo, Dimitris Metaxas, and Leon Axel VOLUMETRIC HEART MODELING AND ANALYSIS Using magnetically tagged data to better understand the mechanical function of normal and abnormal hearts.

Determination of Volumetric Mass Transfer Coefficient in Gas-Solid-Liquid Stirred Vessels Handling High Solids Concentrations: Experiment and Modeling

Rigorous analysis of the determinants of volumetric mass transfer coefficient (kLa) and its accurate forecasting are of vital importance for effectively designing and operating stirred reactors. Majority of the available literature is limited to systems with low solids concentration, while there has always been a need to investigate the gas-liquid hydrodynamics in tanks handling ...

Modeling The Dynamic Human Heart

The development of a four-dimensional solid modeling system is described. The applied technique provides three-dimensional visualization and animation of the human heart during its activated phase (the cardiac cycle). The modeling procedure is based on medical data-images generated by a magnetic resonance (MR) scanner. The visualization of the moving heart is based on a new approach for modelin...

Modeling and Representation of Human Hearts for Volumetric Measurement

This paper investigates automatic construction of a three-dimensional heart model from a set of medical images, represents it in a deformable shape, and uses it to perform volumetric measurements. This not only significantly improves its reliability and accuracy but also makes it possible to derive valuable novel information, like various assessment and dynamic volumetric measurements. The meth...

Modeling the Transport and Volumetric Properties of Solutions Containing Polymer and Electrolyte with New Model

A new theoretical model based on the local composition concept (TNRF-mNRTL model) was proposed to express the short-range contribution of the excess Gibbs energy for the solutions containing polymer and electrolyte. This contribution of interaction along with the long-range contribution of interaction (Pitzer-Debye-Hückel equation), configurational entropy of mixing (Flory-Huggins relation)...

Measurement of Volumetric and Viscometric Properties of Binary Mixtures of Methyl Tert-butyl Ether (MTBE) + 1-Alcohol from 293.15 to 308.15 K and at Atmospheric Pressure

Densities and viscosities of binary mixtures of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) with 1-alkanols include 1-butanol, or +1-pentanol, or +1-hexanol, or +1-heptanol were measured as a function of composition from 293.15 to 308.15 K at atmospheric pressure. The temperatures studied were 293.15, 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15 K. The experimental results have been used to calculate the viscosity de...
